Found out tonight that Abletons delay compensation situation is pretty janky. Scenario: Audio of sine wave from operator with an effect rack, two chains. One is totally transparent (middle track) and the other has a flat EQ8, default settings (third track). Both are recorded simultaneously from the post fx output of the chains. What would have happened in a perfect world: Everything lines up. No problems. Beatport top 10 for nine weeks straight. What actually happened: Nothing lines up. Recordings come in before the source. One recording comes in WAY before the others. Tracks signed to a shitty german netlabel that releases exclusively to archive.org. Really though, Im a little bit amazed that this is even an issue, especially when using native Ableton plugins and nothing else.
