Found two babies flying squirrels today at a friends house. Only a few days old! But we did find the nest! Their nest had fallen apart and mamma squirrel was rather frantic. So we fixed a bowl to the tree below the old nest, put a cardboard skirt under to prevent the cats to get at it and for about an hour, we watched mamma squirrel flying from one tree to the other moving her babies to safety into an old hollow tree near by! It was a sight! Flying squirrels are typically nocturnal. Although we did touch the babies, wildlife does not care about human scent and will always want their babies back.
