Foundry Loan - Roads Up-Date Following our meeting on Monday - TopicsExpress

Foundry Loan - Roads Up-Date Following our meeting on Monday evening, we have again written to Falkirk Council in relation to the ongoing concerns over the speed cushions on the Foundry Loan. We have raised the concerns that residents have voiced over excessive vibrations within houses and also reports of damage to both houses and vehicles. We have advised that we still believe that there requires to be traffic calming on the road to prevent vehicles speeding but the means used to calm the traffic requires to be reviewed. We have also raised the issue that the current speed cushions are not slowing down large vehicles which have the ability to straddle the cushions. We have asked Falkirk Council that a full review be undertaken of the speed cushions and an alternative solution sought. We have also advised that we believe this review should be considered alongside the Councils forthcoming review of the waiting restrictions on Foundry Loan in order to take a holistic approach to the issues being experience by residents on the road. In relation to the parking, we have been advised that Falkirk Council is going to undertake a review of the waiting restrictions on the road in order to implement a pragmatic approach to parking on the road. We have welcomed this review particularly in light of the increase in overspill parking from the station and cars parking close to junctions reducing visibility for pedestrians and road users. We will keep you posted of any response we receive.
