Frame drumming activates the brain and body of women in a special way. This rhythmic wisdom will be transmitted on the retreat as it was passed onto us (Marina and Heleniq), by the beautiful and blessed late Layne Redmond. Layne, a world renowned percussionist and author of When the Drummers were Women taught in Crete many years ago and then in Cyprus. This book is an excellent archive of women drummers of antiquity and a sociopolitically rectifying one on how to reclaim respect for female divinity. It has helped sanctify so many aspects of the women, reminding us also again of the sacredness of our planet and our bodies. Moreover, October marks one year since Layne passed on and so we will pay homage to her, her legacy and ours on the land where it al began ! Sacred indeed !
