Free education,bus fares for children and senior citizens,pensions for senior citizens namely people over 70 years and food vouchers,construction of roads. All this happened in the last two years whereas this govt took power through unlawful means some seven and half years ago. This is the responsibility of all governments as they control and collect taxes. Lets look at the downside, we have had to endure media censorship and control, clampdown of meetings ,gatherings of all sorts involving more than three people without first obtaining a permit for the same. Political meetings in any form was banned. Public Emergency regulations were lifted only recently. Total clampdown on any form of dissension. Elections at all levels - municipal councils and growers council ,FLS were not allowed during this period. FICAC was put in place to tackle corruption and yet we are faced with greater corruption now than ever before. We have not had a report on the governments finances for the last seven years . The office of the auditor General is not functional. We effectively have a government which collects revenue through one form of taxation or another,whether it be through vat,stamp duty ,tariffs , or new forms of taxation like capital gains, road levy, LTA charges ,town rates, to name a few. Also all these taxes have been increased arbitrarily by this regime. Price of daily food items have skyrocketed whilst incomes have remained stagnant or decreased due to inflation and.devaluation There has been nil or very little job creation or real investment and if it werent for overseas remittances poverty would be over 50%. It is a case of taxation without representation . We have had no say in govt borrowing or ,expenditure . It is now time to become aware that our votes cannot be bought with afew pieces of silver ,that we want real democracy ,a say in how the affairs of govt are run . So vote for NFP..... Vote #261
