Freedom of Religion We strongly express our dissatisfaction over Bombay high courts statement dated 25th Nov 2014 stating our act of worship (Matam) as Atrocity (Zulm o Jabr). We request our honorable bench of justices to reconsider this issue since this is suppression of Shia communitys religious rights. India is a secular nation with freedom of expression and religion. 1. We witnessed no case of any blood transmitted diseases so far in people performing Matam with same sharp objects. Hence this point is invalid. 2. Petitioners talk about Quran Hadith and Sharia, let justice bench understand that petitioners have their religion and we have ours they cant ask us to practice our religion based on their understanding or interpretation of Quran Hadith and Sharia. 3. We find Quran to be against idol worshipping that does not mean we should file petition in court against Ganeshotsav. No we dont do that similarly we expect no hindrance in our religious practices. 4. We request the hight court to reconsider this sensitive issue and do not let our religious freedom to be suppressed. 5. We are Shias yes we are Indian Shias and we respect our judiciary system but at the same time we are ready to confront any act against our freedom of religion and we are ready to get imprisoned for that if the situation requires so. ***The above article is written considering my right to express and speech***
