Friday 18 July 2014.. sorry but its a long note Second win in 2 weeks masha allah....We played against the legendary unfit legends led by the very able Abid Butt... for once i lost the toss to our benefit as we were put into bat... Usman Yunus Ghani and Adnan Malik opened the batting (me opting to go down the order due hamstring injury)... adnan malik made a steady 10 run a ball before being bowled and UYG played a superb knock of 90 off 50 balls which included 6 towering sixes... a superb knock that laid the foundation for a big score and unlucky to have missed out on century as he deserved it .... Aamir Noor went one down and scored 47 off 30 and we got to 150 in 15 overs.. after that quickfire knocks of 12 by Adeel Abbasi , 20 off 12 by Rizwan Merchant including a huge huge six and 13 off 8 by Tayyab Balagamwala got the score onto 201 in the designated 20 overs. In reply the unfit legends got off to a great start scoring 50 for no loss in 4 overs before adeel abbasis spin slowed them down and Rizwan Diwan dived full length to get a jonty rhodes style run out... from that point onwards our famous diesel engine Sameer Ahmedani turned into a petrol chugging machine and took 3 quick wickets (all bowled off arm ball) with figures of 4 overs 8 runs 3 wickets.... Jamshed Azhar angel of death lived upto his reputation and bowled 3 overs for 13 with 2 wickets... Murtaza Salims practice at lords cricket ground recently against brian lara bore fruit yet again and he bowled a very economical spell with 1 wicket..rizwan diwan got a wicket too despite being heavily jet lagged after usa trip and having performed well in houston baseball league recently. other notable mentions... Nabeel Moon for a good opening spell while runs were flowing at the other end... aamir noor for having wicket keeped for 20 overs despite having played a long innings at one down and now hes decided to permanently keep so watch out Ahmed Usama and Usama Ebrahim your place in team in danger :)..... Imran Navtakia for proving that old is gold and experience matters (living upto his nickname PC (Purana Chawal) :):)) by taking 2 catches and almost taking a 3rd with a superb dive... and of course myself for having taken a catch at deep mid wicket which all including rizwan merchant had predicted would be dropped :):).... man of the match jointly shared between usman afridi yunus ghani and sameer petrol ahmedani !!
