Friday, July 25, 2014 We have become swift to deny our history which has been many moments that greatly defined all that we are now. Unfortunately there have been many atrocities committed but we are forced only to acknowledge a few. Since when should we deny our children the knowledge of the sufferance of millions so these apparent Masters may be placated and their relations now may be blind to all that was done. There are people in positions of power now, who would very likely have very little if it had not been for the emancipation of slaves and the compensation their families received for each they had to free. Even when emancipated we were judged only as beings for financial restitution. Where was the equality and understanding that never should a person be a slave to another, still we are enslaved, consigned to the denial of our history. H.H.
