Friday night I opened my first bottle of Modern Times Beer News - TopicsExpress

Friday night I opened my first bottle of Modern Times Beer News from Nowhere. Barrel character was unbelievably good, almost tasted like a beer aged on red wine grapes (currants, or plums maybe). Sourness was towards the high end with just a hint of acetic, but plenty of rich maltiness to back it up. Brett was fruity more than funky. Carbonation was prickly, but didnt detract from the character. What made it even better was getting to share it with Nick from The Yeast Bay, who contributed about a dozen strains of Brett to the project! As well as a bunch of old friends who showed up with all sorts of great sour beer.
