Friends, I need your help! Im selecting a logo for Untrodden — the startup Ive been obsessing over for the last year — and would really value your suggestions and feedback via this poll. It wont take more than a couple minutes. If voting, please take a few moments to read the below description in full so as to make sure your vote is appropriately cast: 1) the core concept of the company is a discovery and booking platform for off-the-beaten-path lodging...think Airbnb but across different accommodation categories (lodges, small inns, guesthouses, cabins, sheleters, homestays) and both near (i.e. within a short drive of major US cities) and far (iconic faraway destinations such as Patagonia, E. Africa, or N. Zealand). (2) The common theme is off the beaten path. Rather than a geography, its a metaphor for authentic, personal, and small-scale accommodations that posses an aching amount of character, are far from the mainstream tourist trails, and are fantastic basecamps for a type of travel that often feels more like a lost vocation (rejecting the checklist in deference to a slower, deeper and more experiential form of travel). (3) while fundamentally the company is a tech utility, Im striving for it to become a values-based, lifestyle travel brand that celebrates exploration and discovery in the 21st century, with a strong social-impact and rural development/empowerment mission. I know that sounds wildly pretentious, but its my belief theres so much of the world still left to explore and that connecting with the world on a deeply personal basis is rewarding and meaningful in so many ways. Thus, with respect to the below logo choices, Im really trying to produce something that is not only simple, minimalist, and easily recognizable, but also a mark that evokes both a strong emotional reaction that is an expression of wanderlust in an abstract, visual form, and communicates the sense of community, place, and hospitality so often found in remote parts of the world. (4) In providing your recommendations, please ignore the written form of the logo design for now (i.e. the word untrodden), as Im really trying to hone in on the mark identity at the moment. (5) Lastly, keep in mind these designs are not final, so simply vote on the mark that you feel has the most potential and is most aligned to the above.
