Friends, ZANU-PF know they have lost the support of the people - TopicsExpress

Friends, ZANU-PF know they have lost the support of the people after 33 years of oppressive rule and therefore must resort to threats to ensure attendance at their rallies. Kombis ferrying people to Harare were yesterday forcibly diverted to Chibuku Stadium for their Chitungwiza rally. Similary in Mbare, vendors were forced to attend a rally after their stalls were shut down and they were warned that they would not reopen and they would lose their licences if they did not attend. Tragically, a woman passed away and many people were injured at the Chitungwiza rally. It is not my place to speculate the causes of the lady’s death as they have not yet been clarified but what is clear is that these forced rallies are not a safe environment for Zimbabwean citizens. In complete contrast, the MDC have been holding peaceful rallies where our supporters and representatives sing and dance. The only problem we encounter is the harassment of our supporters by ZANU thugs and youth militia. President Tsvangirai was forced to move one of our rallies to an open field next to Mvurwi vegatable market after ZANU filled the Mvurwi stadium next door with netball and soccer players wearing party regalia. Their dirty tricks have not stopped our supporters from attending rallies however as you can see from the seas of red that are prominent in our recently published photos. They do not care if they have to sit on the grass or in the mud, the only thing that matters to them right now is that change is completed in 2013. With our strength in numbers and the new technologies available to us, it is now easier to expose the bullies and stand up to them. Let’s continue our struggle and not allow Zimbabweans to be intimidated and manipulated. At the rally in Gokwe today, thugs were singing ZANU-PF chants and threatening our supporters. However, our youth stood their ground and the bullies had to retreat to a service station nearby. This gives me great inspiration and should send out a message to all Zimbabweans. The time is up for the evil men that have terrorized us for three decades and we are no longer scared of them. They will continue to throw obstacles in our way but they will not halt us. We may trip up for a moment but we will always get back on our feet and march on. Keep the faith and God bless you all. Pachedu
