Friends and Fans, please safeguard your family this weekend! The 42nd Security Forces Squadron has been alerted to a local threat circulating on social media referred to as The Purge. Based on a pop film, teens in some communities are organizing actual Purge events, in which all crime is acceptable for approximately 12 hours. The local Purge is scheduled for Friday, 22 Aug beginning at 8 p.m. and ending Saturday at 6 a.m., in Columbus, GA, and Phenix City, AL. If you, your family or teammates live in or plan to transit the affected area during the identified timeframe, remain vigilant and implement basic security measures. The 42 SFS will pass on any relevant force protection information regarding this threat to the Maxwell-Gunter AFB community as it becomes available.
