Friendships are about being yourself and understanding silences and when time and distances dont matter. You meet and it is like the years just fall away and you know they have your back always as you theirs. A Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: ‘What! You too? I thought I was the only one. ― C.S. Lewis That one is something I so associate with Micky and me. You heard that one before. Twas because we thought we were the cats whiskers till we met and realised there was space for both of us at the top. I am not making any new fangled dish but something that was a part of us and we drew comfort from and still do. We might have never had it together. Neither am I going to garnish it because friendship doesnt require that. It is enough on its own. The reason for the dish I shall provide in comments. Atte ka Halwa. INGREDIENTS Sugar Atta Pure ghee Ratio of the above three 1:1:1 Water Three times the ratio of sugar so if you use one cup of sugar , you will use three cups of water. Some might use more. METHOD Add sugar to water and set in pot to boil. Melt ghee and add whole grain flour (atta) to it Stir mixture continuously to lightly toast the atta. Continue stirring flour and ghee mixture while sugar boils to make light syrup. The ghee will start separating from the atta and give out a wonderful aroma as it turns brown. Pour boiling sugar syrup into this mixture. Mixture will sputter. Take care not to be scalded. Stir rapidly until all water is absorbed. Keep stirring halwa as it thickens into a firm pudding. Completely cooked halwa slides easily from pan . Serve the halwa.
