From Dave: Hi everyone. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart and also from my entire family for the incredible support that we have received for Calla Morris Hess. Your prayers have not gone unnoticed or uncared for. We serve a living God that is still in the job of miracles. Today is another milestone in Callas journey, they removed the ventilator this morning and she has been doing fine all day without it. In fact she went the majority of the day without needing any pain medication. Those both deserve a Halleluiah, Amen and a Praise God! While my beautiful bride of nearly 21 years now is not communicating with us vocally yet, she does make it know when she feels pain. We were hoping that with the removal of the ventilator that she would just start giving me my honey do list and we would be almost through with this whole adventure, but that was not the case...yet. That day will come. We have been told by the doctors and nurses time and time again that this is not a sprint, this is truly a marathon. How appropriate for Calla to use this analogy. We take each small step as the blessing it is and look forward to the next. I ask that those of you that live in the area to hold off right now on visiting. Too much stimulus is not on the doctors order list. But know there will be a time before we know it that Calla will want to see all of you again. There is even talk of moving out of the ICU by next week. So I thank you once again for all the prayers. Please keep them coming!
