From David Lester Another new Bud film, feel free to post. +++ Downtown Eastside activist Bud Osborn was one of the originators, along with MP Libby Davies, Susan C. Boyd and Donald MacPherson, of North Americas first free injection site, near Hastings and Main in Vancouver. Osborn was also a superb poet and author of six books. BCBookLook has produced a video called Remembering Bud (2014) with an original soundtrack by Bud Osborn, David Lester and Wendy Atkinson. Produced by Alan Twigg. Edited by Tom Shandel. Camerawork by Ken Hewlett, Nigel Hunt, and Laura Sawchuk. Support from Canada Book Fund. The six-minute video shows Osborn on the streets of Vancouvers Downtown Eastside as well as footage of the memorial events that occurred soon after his death at age 66 in 2014.
