[From My Inbox] Dear Charles: Why is it that I always want the man I cant have?? Its starting to really kick my self-esteem in the butt!! Its not like they are always the best choice in men so maybe its my saving grace that they dont want to be with me?? I dont know Its always the same, Its not you, its me... which is BS. What gives? [My response] It sounds like you are selecting *exactly* the man who not only cant you have... but also the precise men who arent really into you. My gut reaction: You are looking externally to feel valued/valuable. If I am worthy of love then this wrong man will change his ways and love me... especially because hes not the type to change. If he doesnt, then... I knew it... Im not lovable. Its a very damaging cycle, and there is only one way out of it: You have to love YOU first... from there, others will have no choice to come correctly, as you wont settle for anything less than their best.
