From NC. Rep. Kelly Hastings face book page: Kelly Hastings I - TopicsExpress

From NC. Rep. Kelly Hastings face book page: Kelly Hastings I had just returned from being in Raleigh for four days this week and went to get mail; I was dressed in my running gear. A man asked, “Are you working today?” I had to laugh. Being in Raleigh all week will destroy a person’s business. And to top it off, we are assigned to interim committees when we are not in session. I’m not sure if he was kidding, serious, or just ribbing me. In case he was ribbing me, I responded: “It’s funny how some care about my job now that I hold public office. Not many seemed to care when I was on Parris Island.” I think he got the point. My comment to this post is that all questions from constituents deserves a common decency reply. You are an elected official and as such the people who elected you have every right to ask questions of you (some of which might even rub you the wrong way). My question to this post is if the public questions are too much for you to bare and the work schedule and responsibilities of "SERVING" the people too great of a challenge than why run? In fact why not step aside and let the Republican Party elect a new Rep to take your place. I am sure there is someone out there who would serve with humility and pride without complaining about the work and thinking the voters are to be side-stepped instead of welcomed and respected.
