From ODOT: Rehabilitation work to begin January 12 on Old Youngs Bay Bridge Only minor delays expected ASTORIA—The contractor working for the Oregon Department of Transportation will resume bridge rehabilitation work on the Old Youngs Bay Bridge (U.S. 101 Bus) starting the week of January 12. Most of the work will be done during the daytime with flaggers controlling a single lane of traffic. Only minor delays are expected during construction activities and travelers should drive through the area with caution. The $16.7 million bridged rehabilitation project began on December 1 with the closure of the Lewis & Clark River Bridge. The Lewis and Clark River Bridge will be closed until late summer. Motorists trying to get to businesses next to the closed Lewis and Clark River Bridge are reminded that local detours are available. Motorists coming from Seaside or local motorists in the area can use Fort Clatsop Road to Lewis and Clark Road to access local businesses near the bridge, as well as the U.S. 101 detour which is the main detour route. Both bridges will not be closed at the same time and access to all businesses around the bridges will be maintained. The first segment of work for the Old Youngs Bay Bridge is the replacement of the old electrical system. The overall project is scheduled to be completed in November 2017.
