From Our Supporters | Beth Knutson Gustafson I have learned to look for the angels among us. After my husband was killed and the court proceedings were in full swing, our family was blessed to have an assistant district attorney who was both capable and empathetic. He was young but had a calm confidence about him. When our case was still in the thick of the proceedings, this young attorney was going to be leaving the DA’s office. Before he left, I wrote him a letter to let him know what an angel he had been along the way. His encouragement, support and expertise were so appreciated and would be greatly missed. I wished him luck in whatever his future had in store. Years later, I was walking on the city streets and his name jumped out at me…a very unassuming family law practice, in a small office along the street. I knew that it had to be the very same angel. I stepped inside hoping to reconnect. A young lady said that he wasn’t in at the time. My eyes were drawn to a framed handwritten letter hanging on the wall. Tears welled up in my eyes. It was the letter that I had written to him when our family was in our depths. I never spoke to him after that, but I knew that we had a special connection that went beyond words. Take time to recognize the angels.
