From Pastor Dunamis. Tuesday, October 29 Wisdom for singles and married - Don’t get angry when your spouse is angry! Gen 49:5-7 KJV (5) Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations. (6) O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall. (7) Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel. Two angry people are dangerous people! Simeon and Levi in the above story are brothers, but the Bible says their father placed a curse on them because of their unrestrained violent emotions. They were of like tempers, dispositions, and manners, bold, wrathful, cruel, revengeful, and deceitful, and joined together in their evil counsels and evil actions which resulted in the cruel and barbarous slaughter of the inhabitants of Shechem. If only one brother was angry, the other could have calmed his brother. But both were angry at the same time, so their anger fuelled one another! Message translation of verse 5 says Gen 49:5 MSG Simeon and Levi are two of a kind, ready to fight at the drop of a hat. Couples must learn to restrain their anger and learn not to react at every provocation so that the home will be a habitable place for the children. What happens when my spouse is angry and raising his/her voice at me? The answer is here – Pro 15:1 KJV A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. Talk softly. You will be amazed! Don’t raise your voice back in anger! Just talk softly and the anger will be defused. That is the way Message translation outs it. Pro 15:1 MSG A gentle response defuses anger, but a sharp tongue kindles a temper-fire. If you are still single or engaged, and you notice that your friend has problem with anger, seek help now. If it is an uncontrollable anger and he/she is unwilling to change or seek help, you might as well get out of that relationship before you endanger your life. That is what the Bible advises! It will be insane to see all the dangers in going along with a person, and to still hold on recklessly. Remember, ‘anger’ is one letter short of Danger! Pro 22:24 KJV Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go: Pro 22:24 MSG Dont hang out with angry people; dont keep company with hotheads. Thank God for love, but love should not endanger your life! If you are careful, patient and you listen to God, you will always see the handwriting on the wall in terms of wrong decisions. if you are already married, God can turn things around for you if you cry unto him. He will remove chaos from your life and give you peace. I pray for you this day that God will send the very help you need that is specific to your person in Jesus name. Will you like to give your life to Jesus Christ or rededicate your life? Then pray this prayer sincerely now: Lord Jesus, come into my life. I believe you died for my sins and you rose up on the third day. I accept you today as my Lord and personal savior. I proclaim you as my Lord today! I ask for your forgiveness today, I am a new creature, old things are passed away, and all things are become new. I am born again! Amen.
