From Patricia Psooy LOVE WINNIPEG PRAYER June 7 Father God, we come to You today with thankful hearts for THE NATURAL AND MAN-ENHANCED BEAUTY that is part of Winnipeg. We thank you for the Red, Assiniboine, LaSalle and Seine Rivers, which have played such a significant part in the history of this city, and for the life-giving water that still flows between their tree lined banks. We thank you for the Sturgeon, Bunn’s, Truro and Omand’s Creeks which flow through, and help define, our city. We thank you for Assiniboine Park, the Zoo and all the great things to be explored and enjoyed there, Kildonan Park and Rainbow Stage, Central Park, The Legislature grounds, The Forks, The Golf Courses, Community playgrounds, etc. Please make each of these safe places, and may those who go there find You in the beauty of Your world. Thank you for the rain and snow in season, but please protect us from the devastation of flood, hail, blizzard, wild fire, and tornado. We lift up the events and places that draw people from near and far to Winnipeg: Festival du Voyageur, Folklorama, Red River Ex., The Convention Center, The MTS Center, Canwest Global Park, Investors Group Field, Assiniboia Downs, etc. We pray that somehow You would be glorified in the midst of the entertainment and business activities, and that the world might see Jesus in the people of Winnipeg. Please protect and have mercy on those who promote and participate in the Gay Pride Parades, and who frequent the Casinos of Winnipeg. We ask these things in the Precious, Powerful Name of Jesus. Amen
