From a friend of the page -- Sound familiar? Hi, I wasnt even aware that these scams took place until today but I have recently dealt with a scammer who I have not been able to locate anywhere else. He found me on meetme, seemed like a nice guy, said all the right things and told me he was deployed in Nigeria for fifteen months and had already been there for four months. He was online a lot with the exception of him going out on patrol. After a few days of talking to him, I helped him make a Facebook account because he said that he couldnt but if I made him one, he could chat and send messages through it, and for me not to put his military photographs in the default pic, just in a friends only folder for friends (who consisted of my family, no one he knew) only to view. He gave me a story about his father dying a year ago and his mother up and leaving and moving to Mexico, him not having heard anything from her since. He kept asking me about myself but was vague when it came to talking about his background and life. He said he was from Nevada, but once he was finished with his deployment, he was coming to be with me. Then he turned around and told me he wanted to take a leave because he just had to see me, he loved me and wanted to marry me. Well, the alarm bells in my head went off and I told him that he barely knew me to say such things. He kept saying the same things, rather repetitive in his words. He then told me he would need my help to pay for his flight to me. I instantly googled and came across a website that told me about the military romance scams. I confronted him about why he needed me to send money for a flight when soldiers get to and from wherever for free. I then asked him to tell me his AKO email address. He started to try to turn it around on me, Why dont you trust me? What have I done to be treated this way by you? All while insisting he was 100% authentic. Well, I continued to push until he gave me an AKO address but told me not to email it yet, he would send me an email from it when he returned from patrol. I emailed it anyway and it was unable to be delivered because there was no such AKO email address. When he returned online, I confronted him again, to which he tried to turn it back around on me, about how much he loved me, how I didnt trust him and he didnt understand why and so on. I told him to prove he was who he said he was or admit he was a scammer. Of course, he kept telling me he was being honest. So when I told him I emailed the AKO address and it was a phoney, he tried to give me more lies about how his commander would not allow it to go through because I should trust him, and if I didnt believe him, then he need not prove himself to me. So I basically told him that I know the truth, he got caught and just needed to admit it, and that the worst part was trying to explain this all to my family and feel humiliated that I almost let some scammer get the best of me. I also told him that I would never send him money, I might be guilty of being too trusting or too caring but I would not send money to some stranger over the internet who claims to love me and wants to marry me after three days. Well, I unfriended him on facebook and he got a strongly worded email from my sister. He messaged her and was like, I need to talk to her, I need her phone number. And kept insisting that she give him my phone number. My sister refused and then he messaged me again all casual like Hello. I told him my mind still had not changed and either send me a legit AKO email address or leave me alone. He tried to continue to make excuses and I was like, You cant because you are a liar and a fraud, just admit it. He continued insisting on my phone number so I told him Id give it to him only when he gave me a valid AKO email address. He then said, Well, I guess were done here. And I was like, Ive been done, and sent him a big thumbs up. When I started looking for answers to my suspicious, I tried looking up his photos on google images as well as another one but it had no results. I do not want this jerk to prey on other women who may be clueless to such scams as I was prior to all of this. I am only glad that I listened to my instinct and started digging around when I did but it sure doesnt take away from my feeling foolish. Anyhow, here is the information that he gave me and photos. Also, at the end of all his emails, it said Sent by US Military Device. Name: Josh Jimenez Meet me profile: meetme/member/104832180 email addresses: jhnson10@gmail joshwolct@yahoo
