From a member: My father is a military Vet with two peacekeeping tours under his belt that is dealt with PTSD and some other psychological issues. Over the last 5 years he started shutting us all out, seeing another woman other than his wife (my mother), lie to us about it and disappearing for days on end saying that he is just taking time for himself. Through the whole thing, he has not really taken responsibility for his own actions and puts it off on everyone else, mostly my mom. He had been doing some training and gotten an amazing job that was helping him get back on track. He suddenly, with no warning, lost the job because he wasnt a go with the flow person to the detriment of the job (safety officer) and he is self destructing. He got home tonight after we thought he was gone gone, said he lost his cell phone and flipped out on my mom (she probably accused him of seeing the woman) and he is threatening to leave and that will be it for contact with all of us (myself, my husband, our 15month old daughter, my sister, his family, etc.) my mom told him if he leaves this time that he cant come back because she cant keep taking it and he blamed her for making him make the choice. I understand why she cant just walk out the door, she has loved him and followed him around for so many years and when it was time for them to FINALLY be in one place and be around each other and grow old together he starts to deal with this. Anyway... I am really not sure what to do because Inal terrified that he is going to actually leave and cut us out of his life. I do worry that he is actually in contact with the woman and that he could end up leaving us all for her and her family because he has missed so many family events over the last 5 years and been with them, I have seen photographic proof, and lied constantly about it. It hurts to think that he could do that, go with this new family and forget about his blood, the people who have stood by him this whole time and just want to love him. I just dont know what to do. any feedback would be awesome! Thank you!
