From a member: Please post confidentially. My husband was 100 Perm Dis by the military and the Marine Corps sides. We are trying to understand his pay situation. The Naval liaison who did all his paperwork told us some things different then what has happened of course. Hoping someone else can shed some light. In Oct we received his first check from DFAS for lets just say $1000. In NOV we received the VA monies of $3000 (just a round number) but the $1000 was waived. Two things contradicting is we got no dependent pay from Va and the naval liaison said my husband would also continue to receive his retirement monies as well. Turns out none of te paperwork was submitted. So we mailed in the dependent paperwork and now we get a total of lets say $3500 from the VA. Then we sent in a CRSC application. After so much reading and research we are confused. Naval med board sent a letter stating that the appl for CRSc was approved and backdated to when the original appl was supposedly sent in. DFAS states thy got the CRSC info but cant tell us anything yet. From your experience what does this mean for us financially? Will we be receiving additional monies beyond the 3500 from the VA? We were told we would just get both his VA and his Marine corps monies but not sure that is right. My husband did not do a full 20 years of service so we know he doesnt qualify for the CRDP. Thanks in advance for all your help. Im so lost. I cant budget at all and its not good for our big family.
