From a post I received earlier: I think Ive done well trying to avoid political situations on this page, but even sitting in the middle of the left and the right, I do find it totally incongruous that many thousands of our troops have died overseas trying to keep the bad guys from our shores, but a 5 year old, without his parents, can cross our borders, undeterred. Don: No shit ! Some day this will come back to haunt us.....I sure hope not, but it will. Denis Wolf-Keith: Bob. When did a 5 year old become the bad guys? Bob Dorr: The 5 year old is not the bad guy, the fact that he can cross our borders undeterred would seem to me that ANYONE, including the bad guys, can do the same. If you cant see the trouble with that, then youre a blind fool. Jamie: I think lawmakers and presidents that support sending other peoples kids to be killed for the politicians cause should be required by the Constitution to fight right alongside those troops. It might make them think twice before they approve funding for our world police force. Don: I personally dont think its the 5 yr old being a bad guy. Its the fact that our country has a immigration law that is not being enforced or followed. Also our country is so wide open at our boarders that we are wide open to a HUGE problem Denis Wolf-Keith: YOU, used the verbiage, Bob, not me, and PLEASE stop calling me names. Denis Wolf-Keith https://facebook/TheMindUnleashed/photos/a.434569209933563.103142.432632306793920/671237856266696/?type= Bob Dorr: It may be time for you to go to Texas and spend all your time and money dealing with the needs of the thousands of parentless kids who are sitting in detention centers in order to get a real life perspective and then get back to me. Deb Williams :What is inconceivable to me is how a parent can let go of the hand of their child....some of them carrying younger siblings with others trailing behind them.....and wish them well on a treacherous trip North over mountains, through rivers, with danger at every single corner to a somewhere or other they believe exists. The only explanation I can fathom is that we have become a vision of this unbelievably irresistible, beautifully wrapped gift of free housing, free education, free food, free health care and jobs, jobs, jobs and paychecks for everyone (Go ahead, take two! Theyre free!) and all they have to do is make it to the border to untie the bow and its theirs. Its hard for me to imagine anything sooooo compelling that a mom would think of sending her children on such a perilous trip other than truly believing it is the only way she can possibly dream of making a better life for them. Avis Handorf :For whats it worth, I didnt take your wording to mean that a 5 year old was a bad guy but that SOMEONE should notice a 5 year old walking around unattended. And if theyre not paying attention to an unattended five year old, they aint paying attention to much. Sarita Woods: Deb -Mothers are sending thier children because of the gang and narco violence in their countries of Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala. Children are targeted by narco gangs, young girls are kidnapped and raped, children are stolen and recruited into service as drug-mules, assassins, told if they dont comply their family will/and are killed. Much of what happens in other parts of the world is inconceivable to us so we can easily judge. Sarita Woods: I cannot imagine the anquish of a mother where sending her children on such a trip is the better alternative then having them stay where they are. Obviously it is the last resort alternative for a mother. Al Weltha: Im wondering if this wont turn out to be a kind of manufactured crisis by people eager to close the border and stop immigration. It seem that the kids (and parents that send them) are actively being given bad information in their country of origin. This crisis is new and very conveniently timed. Eric Marck: They have to travel the entire Mexican nation to get here. Lets put the blame where the blame lies. The mules take their money and, as promised, drop them on our border. Its a frickin industry and the POTUS needs to say something. Denis Wolf-Keith It may be time for you to go to Texas... OR, Bob...YOU, (and ALL of U.S. who TRUEly BELIEVE this), could: Hop a Flight, a Train or Bus an Grab A Friend and yer brother Gus... THESE R Marchin Orders ON OUR Freakin Boarders, cuz Da...See More
