From a reader: Sharing a proud moment: NEx is supposed to sell the house that has both our names on the mortgage that he is responsible for per our divorce decree (long back story that is not relevant here). He sent an email to his realtor and copied me suggesting very strongly that I am breaking into the house continually and stealing and vandalizing. Instead of getting upset and shooting back an email defending myself, which I would have done a few years ago, I recognized that he is hoovering using triangulation and I decided to not respond at all. And then I had a good laugh thinking about the realtor opening that email and wondering what the heck he wanted her to do about it. And had an even better laugh thinking about him contacting the police (the first time the house was broken into, our daughter heard him tell the police that he thought it was me, and then he emailed me that the police would be questioning me but they never even contacted me), and the police asking him, so you want to press charges against someone breaking into her own house? Or telling our attorneys who know that selling that house so I can get out from under it and get a place of my own is my top priority so why would I sabotage that? He is the one who left it vacant and uninsured and is WAY behind on payments, ruining my credit. But I am going to put this out of my mind and go about my day because worrying is not going to change any of it, and engaging with him will only make things worse. Becoming emotionally detached from his toxicity has truly saved my life. Thanks again for this page and your books.
