From city Clerk Joanne Baade: At its meeting of September 24, the City Council continued its review of the General Plan to its meeting of October 1. Unfortunately, after the September 24 meeting concluded, the City’s General Plan consultant (Brian Judd of The Planning Center) became aware of a conflict that precludes him from attending a meeting on October 1. Because of the value in having Mr. Judd in attendance, staff is recommending that Council defer its consideration of the General Plan to a future date. Because Council took formal action to continue the matter to October 1, it is necessary for us to include this item on the October 1 agenda. Consequently, a revised agenda will be issued later today that includes this item but that includes a recommendation that the issue be deferred to a date to be determined. The Closed Session for the October 1 meeting will still commence at 4:30 p.m., and the public business meeting will still commence at 5 p.m. as determined by Council at its last meeting.
