From my devotional this morning: Friends lookout for each other. They keep each other honest and accountable. They’re not afraid to stick their finger in a friend’s face and tell them honestly they’ve gone off track. A wise man desires such friends. It takes an enormous amount of focus and work to maintain such an atmosphere amongst friends. This is the power of friendships – honesty and openness. It’s foolish to have close friends and not build trust and security to the point of transparency – take advantage of your close friends by being open with them about your struggles, insecurities, etc. We were never meant to go it alone. . JAS 5:16 NIV Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. JAS 5:19-20 NIV My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring that person back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins. GAL 6:1-2 NIV Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
