From my friend, Deb Barnes in Deerfield: While I am a feral cat advocate, I have never been in the trenches per se. I am a writer and educator. All that changed today when I found out that a feral cat had been trapped where I work and is going to be driven away tonight by my boss to be dropped off to parts unknown which I know is not a safe solution for the cat. I was not supposed to have found out about this and when I made eye contact with the cat, my heart broke. That look of indignity, defeat, and shattered pride. It was haunting and I don’t know what to do. I am in the Deerfield Beach area – does anyone know of a colony where this cat can go? My boss said I have until the end of the day to find a solution… Oh, and naturally, it looks like the cat has not been altered… Anyone have any solutions or advice for her?
