From our friends at Metal Flower Media: NAKED AND AFRAID CASTING RELEASE THE DISCOVERY CHANNEL LAUNCHES NATIONWIDE SEARCH FOR CAST CANDIDATES TO PARTICIPATE IN “NAKED AND AFRAID” An intense nationwide search to find elite survival experts for the cutting edge new series on the Discovery Channel entitled “Naked and Afraid.” Being dubbed as the ultimate survival challenge, each one-hour episode will be harrowing for all survivalists. Participants will face situations that require intense, split-second decision-making and instinctual, laser-sharp response. It’s not enough to be a weekend warrior – this series requires experience, ingenuity, and determination. Stripped of even the most basic of necessities, including their clothing, participants will rely only upon their skill set and that of their partner’s to survive. “It’s not enough for our participants to know how to start a fire and build shelter”, says Jay Renfroe, Executive Producer on the project. “These individuals will come face-to-face with what it really takes to survive in the harshest circumstances. We’re going to test the survival skills they’ve learned, and then throw away the book to find out what the really know.” In recent episodes, candidates have lost up to forty-five pounds, faced hyenas alone in the desert armed only with their handheld camera, and battled food poisoning, starvation, and dehydration. Casting Directors are currently seeking men and women, 20’s – 40’s, who are highly skilled survival experts with legitimate training and experience. Individuals must be resourceful, ambitions, and skilled, and must be willing to engage fully in the project. Candidates must pass rigorous testing and profiling before being accepted.
