From teacher Chad: Bottle Rockets: Launch Day Shooting off bottle rockets with the kiddies @ Greenworld today :) Some of you may have seen my earlier post with photos of the three rockets Thảo and I painted for my students at Greenworld kindergarten. Well, today was the big day and we finally had a chance to test them out. Despite the rain, my little troopers were ready to send their rockets into space, or at least 5 or 10 meters. First, we loaded the rockets, made from plastic soda bottles with baking soda (bột nỏ) and vinegar (nước giấm). The chemical reaction cause by combining these two ingredients creates a gas that will fill the rocket. We added a plastic cork to the bottle of the rocket, allowing the gas to build enormous pressure. When the pressure grew too strong, the cork shot out and the rocket shot up :) Take a look!
