From the Desk of: Mat Staver Dear American Patriot, The Obama administration and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would love nothing more than for the Benghazi quagmire to simply disappear – and to get what they arrogantly call “phony scandals” off the radar. But Congressman Frank Wolfe and 162 other lawmakers are determined to call for a thorough investigation, persevering until the truth is told and those responsible are exposed and brought to justice. I firmly believe that the ongoing pressure from grassroots Americans – including friends like you and other members of Liberty Counsel Action – is keeping this issue alive in the halls of Congress and in the public discourse. Please see my very important update below – Mat. Congressman Frank Wolfe (R-VA) is adamant about calling for Congress to take action and appoint a Select Committee to investigate Benghazi-gate. Congressman Wolfe reintroduced H. Res. 36 to the 113th Congress on January 18, 2013, and has been relentless in his pursuit of the bill’s passage. His bill now has 162 co-sponsors. H. Res. 36 would establish a “House Select Committee on the Terrorist Attack in Benghazi,” which would have full subpoena power to fully investigate what happened in Benghazi and the Obama Administration’s response to that catastrophic event. The areas of interest for the Select Committee would include but certainly not be limited to… any requests for additional security, or actions taken by federal agencies to improve security at the consulate before the attack; how the relevant agencies and the executive branch responded to it and whether appropriate congressional notifications were made; any improper conduct by officials relating to the attack; recommendations on what steps Congress and the President should take to prevent future attacks; intelligence known to the United States relating to the attack on the consulate; and any other relevant issues relating to the attack or the response to it. ++This is what’s needed to uncover the truth about Benghazi. This is the action demanded by over 93,000 signers of the petition we delivered to Congress. This is why tens of thousands of faxes from LCA have been barraging Capitol Hill for days on end. This is why we have joined Representative Wolfe in being relentless in demanding that Speaker Boehner allow the full House to vote on the Congressman’s resolution. We must not and will not let the Benghazi issue die – and I believe we are making a significant difference in the action of our legislators!
