From the Police Chief - I wanted to take the opportunity to introduce a recently established crime prevention/information effort by the police department. We call it Cathedral City Police “All Points Bulletin.” The “All Points Bulletin” is a monthly electronic publication sent to community members via a monthly email. The first of each month an email will be sent to the subscriber, which contains the link to that particular months All Points Bulletin. Each Bulletin contains valuable information regarding contemporary crime prevention tips and videos designed to assist community members in the avoidance of becoming a victim, recognizing crime, safety advice, or any information that may be of seasonal interest. For instance past issues contained just some of the following highlights: May – Reporting Suspicious activity Home Security Vehicle safety June – How to avoid being a victim Dating tips Seniors and scams July- Recognizing Suspicious Activity Taking Public Transportation Going on Vacation These valuable tips and articles are among several other crime prevention articles that are intended to assist and inform our citizens regarding public safety. I encourage each of you to visit our ALL Points Bulletin for July. From the July issue you can click on previous editions to catch up on all of the information and news offered by the police department. I know that each of you has a data base of supporters, and in some cases your own newsletter. In an effort to reach a larger population base, I am asking that you assist us by offering to your supporters an opportunity to subscribe to receive this monthly bulletin. Maybe even offer a link from your newsletter to our bulletin. Whatever you can do to assist us would be greatly appreciated. We have reached out to the Desert Sun in an effort to assist as well. As yet they have not written a story. ALSO: • We are developing a business version, that we hope to roll out in September. This version will focus on issues of particular interest to our business community. • We had hoped to roll out or smart phone app, but we are waiting for the final approval of our design from Apple. this is a great phone and tablet app, full of useful tools and information regarding the police department.
