From the end of 1933 through the beginning of 1934, I stayed with Brother Watchman Nee for about four months. During those months I spent much time with him in fellowship. Although he was only two years older than I was, I realized that he could perfect me. I received immeasurable help from his perfecting. He related to me all the important matters concerning church history and Christian practices. He also recommended that I read books written by important Christian authors such as Madame Guyon, Father Fenelon, Brother Lawrence, and Andrew Murray. This demonstrates that from the beginning of the Lords move among us, we stood on the shoulders of the genuine and outstanding Christian expositors who have preceded us.
