The buzz is coming because of the prophecy in Revelations: “And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;” Revelation 6:12 The prophecy is located within the sixth of the seven seals foretold in Revelation. The buzz comes on the heals of a false teaching of prophecy, an oversight of God’s character, and a lack of knowledge of history. PROPHECY The popular teaching of prophecy was a result of the beast’s orders to change the way prophecy is understood. This happened by the hands of Francisco Ribera in 1590: it was a planned and purposeful deception which most all of religion has fallen for. GOD’S CHARACTER Almost every time we turn a page in Biblical Prophecy, we see a warning of “Babylon”. While Babylon will never return, “spiritual” Babylon is alive and well. Babylon is the foundation of the astrology system, and through deception, Satan has the church looking at stars rather than the Creator Himself. When God gives us signs that He will do, those signs are unexplainable to man. The earthquake, black sun, and moon of blood would be unexplainable. HISTORY Because of the false teaching of prophecy, people are either looking solely to the past, or solely to the future for it’s fulfillment. When we understand the relationship in the books of Daniel and Revelation, the symbols used, the comments made, and history; we understand that the end days have been going on since somewhere from the time of John, and the writing of Revelation. So, has the moon of blood happened? The four events of Revelation 6:12-13 (earthquake, black sun, moon of blood, stars falling) happened in the very order in which it was prophesied; and scientist are yet to determine why they even happened. On May 19, 1780, the sun turned dark and the moon as blood and the following recorded in history: “The darkness of the following evening was probably as gross as has ever been observed since the Almighty fiat gave birth to light. I could not help conceiving at the time that if every luminous body in the universe had been shrouded in the impenetrable darkness, or struck out of existence, the darkness could not have been more complete. A sheet of white paper held within a few inches of the eyes, was equally invisible with the blackest velvet.” Mr. Tenney, of Exeter, N. H., quoted by Mr. Gage to the “Historical Society.” CONCLUSION So, what this means is that while Satan has the church looking for signs and wonders in the sky, prophecy is far past what is being taught; and the midnight hour closer than the “virgin’s” expect, in what appears to be a delay of the “groom”.
