From todays general election results,the landslide win of BJP on the shoulders of a single man Narendra Modi,one thing is to be learnt and I have reflected on this since evening. Perhaps he is the only CM of a state who has been criticised,demonised and dissected repeatedly to the point of fatique;his character assassination done every day by the Indian media as well as by his political opponents; his beliefs in himself ridiculed and torn apart by political rhetoric so much so that if he comes to power all hell will break loose. So much negativity spread about one single man - his relationship with his mother and wife not even spared. So much vitriol against one single man who neither has an Ivy league education like his predecessor nor has the stronghold backing of a political family. A man built of his own convictions and self-belief. When others rejected him,when the world hurled barrage of insults by even denying a visa,when newspapers replete with caustic remarks regarding his character printed and digested by India and the world,there he stood still and held ground on his own belief - yes he can. Today I just observed the man who doesnt have an iota of shame proclaiming to the world that he once sold tea in railway carriages to earn a living,his mother washing utensils of the neighbourhood to make both ends meet. And this is the same man who is going to take oath to occupy the highest seat of power in the worlds largest democracy. If this is not inspiration,then what is. He has taught me one certain thing. Believe in own convictions even if the world tells you NO. I salute NaMo.
