Today was pretty much a chores and lessons day. I had a lesson with Eliza. She rode Cheyenne while I rode Stoney. I gave her a few things to work on and I schooled Stoney while she practiced. We went back and forth like that for a while. I was hoping that seeing me work another horse and being on another horse to demonstrate things would help. I think it went well. We even took out the ball to play with for bit and showed her how to get Cheyenne to shift onto her hind so she can bring her front end around. Fun stuff. Then Renee came for a lesson on Birta. Birta played a few games with Renee. She was able to correct some of the stuff but there was a time I asked her if I could get on to stop her from drifting into a corner and stopping. She agreed and I schooled her some. I was able to show her what she was doing and why she was getting this reaction. When she saw the difference between what I did and the response I got and what she was doing and Birta doing that same thing to me she was able to compare the difference. I was curious and almost expecting some behavior issues. Her last time worked was Friday night. That shouldnt be the case but Birta can be quite an opinionated Mare sometimes. If she gets a little she takes the rest. And I mean All of it. If she trusts that you are in control she gives it all up. She needs to know your qualified.
