From what I can tell, this is a roundworm - a parasite. Raw fish, among other raw meats, can be infested by such parasites. Properly cooking these meats pretty much eliminates parasites (hence why I never order steak below medium-WELL, nor do I eat sushi). Please be mindful when purchasing raw meats/fish from any store. AND, for my sushi lovers, DO take note. You are trusting whoever prepares your raw fish food to be using fresh, non-parasite infested fish. Also, know that parasites can live and grow inside of your body LONG before they are detected.
