Full Time Job Opportunity Position: Programs and Operations Coordinator Location: Washington, D.C. The Salam Institute for Peace and Justice is seeking a Programs and Operations Coordinator to be responsible for operations and financial management, as well as program and development support. The Salam Institute focuses on education, research, and training programs in the fields of peacebuilding and conflict resolution, particularly in an Islamic context. We have several priority projects that this position would be involved with, including clergy training and community development initiatives in the Sahel and several other projects in the Middle East and North Africa. Primary responsibilities include: Administration of all programs in partnership with the Program Manager, including preparation, administration during programs, and post-program work; Financial reconciliation and reporting for projects and managing the organization’s finances, including supervising a part time Bookkeeper; Maintaining and further developing systems and ensuring compliance with funding regulations and efficiency of efforts; Ensuring that proper document and financial control processes are followed; Preparing and overseeing reports and other documents for publication Participating in the design of training modules and intervention processes for government and non-governmental organizations as well as various community and grassroots groups; Coordinating and following up with grant proposal writing; Act as a primary point-of-contact for the Salam Institute; Recruiting and supervising interns and volunteers; Managing the Salam Institute office; and Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Required Master’s degree in Non-Profit Management, International Public Administration, International Development, Peace and Conflict Resolution, or similar field 5+ years of relevant professional experience Familiarity and experience working with USAID sub/grant mechanisms and requirements Attention to detail and problem solving abilities Ability to work independently and as a team player Excellent presentation and writing skills Professional attitude and demeanor Fluency in English Legal right to work in the United States Strongly Preferred New business development experience Experience designing and implementing peacebuilding programs Ability to conduct business in Arabic and/or French If you are interested in joining the Salam Institute team, please send a tailored cover letter, your C.V./Resume and salary history & expectations to jobs(at)salaminstitute.org .
