Full community control of police --- and the end of institutional police autonomy --- is the central issue behind the current and historic patterns of massive police abuse and wanton murder in African-American and other non-white communities. The L.A. Coalition for Community Control of Police is one of the most consistent voices on the scene here in Los Angeles in raising these issues in recent years. I strongly recommend this town hall for all who are sincerely committed to the saving black lives, ending the cycle of police killings and other violations of human rights and empowering disempowered communities.
