Fun Facts for Fridays: Our Animal Sciences offers a student organization for our graduate students, known as ASGSA. The UF Animal Sciences Graduate Student Association (ASGSA), is very active in promoting career development, academic success, and social interaction between graduate students and faculty. Each year ASGSA sponsors a number of events including: -The Distinguished Lecturer Series which brings an outstanding member of the field to UF for seminars, and personal meetings with lab groups and students. -Social events such as the ASGSA BBQ and Cook off and Stick Horse Rode and fundraisers that support student travel grants and other activities of the organization. -Industry Tour, which allows grad students to learn about the development of successful animal industries and state of the art technologies applied to different species.
