Fun fact: Chinese fortune cookies are actually Japanese? Why arent they? Well, before WW2 we loved the Japanese and their cuisine, but during the war there was probably illegal profiling and detainment of the Japanese-Americans...but we loved their cookies so much we couldnt get rid of them, so we renamed them Chinese fortune cookies. Idk whats worse: the discrimination of the Japanese-Americans during the war, or creating a 70-year lie under the base assumption that people cant tell the difference between Chinese and Japanese.
