Fun night at TNR. A couple training race exercises (20 laps tempo with sprints every 4; pretty evenly matched team pursuit) followed by some match sprints. As we plunge into most peoples off-season, Im very interested to hear what people would like to see happen with the Tuesday night sessions. Suggestions so far have included: a) keep doing mostly sprint tournaments. b) a mix of events each week. We used to have a session where they would start with flying 200s, and just one round of match sprints, followed by a points race, and if they had time, a Miss-n-Out. Most people would do it all, but those who only wanted to do sprints left early, those who only wanted the mass start, came late. c) Scrap the actual racing until the sprint, focus on off-season race training. An example would be Tim Roachs Hour of Power (great base building... do it in your warm-up gear and work on your cadence). I can remember Steve Cohen running a similar session (100 laps, intermittent sprints). d) Other ideas? Your vote counts. Feel free to post here, or message me directly.
