Arrangements are incomplete at this time, Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs, TN in charge of the arrangements. Joe Hurst Walker, age 69, of Harriman, passed away on Wednesday, June 18. In 1977, Joe was a delegate to the State Constitutional Convention and he served for about 10 years as a county delinquent tax attorney. He was the first public defender in the Ninth Judicial District and has served in that position since 1989. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, 5 – 8 p.m., at the Kyker Funeral Home Chapel in Harriman. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, 2 p.m. at the Harriman United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood.
