Funerals are never easy, no one ever wants to have to say good bye - TopicsExpress

Funerals are never easy, no one ever wants to have to say good bye to someone they love so dearly. My understanding of a Funeral is that it’s supposed to be a time for prayer, and celebration of the life of the deceased; a time to begin healing and understanding. Funerals can be even more difficult especially when the presiding priest barely speaks English. Two years ago at my Grandmother’s funeral I was so upset; not just because I lost Grandma, but because the presiding priest was incomprehensible. I was embarrassed, and thought to myself what would Grandma say…… my perception was fogged. Yesterday I attended a Funeral service for my dear friend, and mother of my friends Michelle Calcutti , Stephen Calcutti & Tina Calcutti Duggan. I knew this funeral was not going to be any easier, as “Mom” is loved by everyone who knew her. Monsignor Franco, said mass, and delivered the eulogy with such passion, pride, and love; he transformed such a sad time for me into what I’ve always believed a funeral mass should be. Thank you Monsignor Franco!! Stephen &Tina you should both be so proud of your daughters Heather Bleakley & Marissa Anne They delivered beautiful words with the love and passion you both have fostered in them. Yes; they made this big guy cry! I’m pretty sure I was crying because my two “nieces” Have grown up so much!! Monsignor Franco asked us all to continue moms work here………….. I want you both to know that after seeing those to young ladies get up there that it was quite evident you have been carrying out everything mom had worked so hard for. It too is apparent your children are on their way to follow. God Bless you all!!
