Fur Peace Ranch, owned by Jorma Kaukonen, is situated in Pomeroy, Ohio. Its nestled in the hills of Southern Ohio, and is home to live concerts in the concert hall, a fully functioning guitar camp, and host to some amazing special guests. They also have the Psylodelic Gallery, (built in a grain silo) which displays rare Jefferson Airplane posters and artwork, and memorabilia from Airplane history. Yesterday they had the Arts and Minds Festival, and we decided a road trip was in order. There were a lot of wonderful vendors, some good grub, and a special acoustic performance by Jorma on the the gazebo. (Plus more music after). My son and nephew made rainsticks and bracelets at the kids table and enjoyed lunch on the lawn as Jorma played. We also got to sit in the concert hall and listen to a phone interview between Jorma and Grace Slick, which was highly entertaining. So many stories! I was so amazed by the beauty and love in this place...everyone we met (including Jorma and his awesome wife Vanessa) was extremely welcoming and friendly...I already cant wait to go back.
