Further comments on NOAH----- I was asked -- If you ignore all the Bible issues, was the movie any good? Regardless of what aspects of the Bible this movie tramples over, I can still imagine a scenario where a person can watch this movie and enjoy it on its own merits -- awesome special effects, Lord of the Rings style combat scenes, and epic realistic flood visuals -- as well as some tense, emotional scenes. BUT..... Unfortunately, if you try to remove the Biblical story just to enjoy the movie then the movie loses its whole purpose. Its not even a decent disaster film given that theres no sense of the scope of danger. All you see is a small family trying to survive a flood while the rest of humanity is just as eager to kill them to get on board the only boat for a hundred miles. The scope isnt there. The movie is totally dependent on the viewer to walk in and sit down with the understanding that THIS is the story of Noah....where the entire human race is at stake, not just some grumpy dude with a fear of drowning facing a hurricane. Its just not that good of a movie. Great visuals....yes, but not a good movie. Evan All Mighty is a better Noah movie. 2012 is a better flood disaster movie. A Perfect Storm is a much more dramatic movie about survival at sea. And Nicholas Cages Knowing is a more spiritually uplifting and hopeful end of humanity starting all over movie and it is has nothing to do with the Biblical story of Creation. As a Biblical movie, its flies in the face of fans of the book. Remove the Bible ties altogether and it just fails.
