Future of the Central Florida Bronies in 2015: meetup talk? I looked at the events page for CFB. Publicly available information. 2014 so far (excluding Gordons quietly posted meetup which may be CFBs last meetup for 2014) we had 10 publicly posted meetups, 5.5 in Orlando, 3 for the GBG2, 2 were convention, only 1 had a publicly posted photo album in the photo section from a dedicated photographer. Though we all have been busy with the GBG2, school, life, job, money, significant other, online brand marketing this year, I do look forward to what meetups we in CFB will have to bring in the future, 2015 and so on, as there will be a new wave of eager and potentially fiscally flexible bronies joining who do not know of meetups and are unable to easily experience the brony fandom beyond an online forum to share comments upon videos, art, merch we own, and pictures we took of toys at Wal-Mart. And no, I wasnt talking about /ponychan/ just now. But if needed, should we could concentrate our efforts to welcoming the eventual meetup surplus that will be lead by our other-side-of-I-4 friends with more initiative? A clear contrast to those whove been in CFB long enough to remember days of the airsoft gun group photos, pony/Gilda jokes, access to all our nice vendors/merch carriers, bowling, silly face group photos, Steak n Shake, Downtown Disney, and pony-in-the-corner photos (much before the then new fillies with the most initiative start calling it travel pony in the summer of 13) from where Orlando Division, having bragged of consistently hosting monthly meetups, regularly humored itself its then catchphrase for our west coast friends, Tampa Sector does not do brony meetups. Nonhumor conclusion: While we in Orlando are quietly sharing photos from that FB brony page we follow, Tampa exploded in all brony meetup activity (not to mention the entire convention) and those who were unable to come, work, no car, gas, money, couldnt find/ask a ride, health, etc, missed out on 2014. Once again, should we in CFB, usually Orlando, continue conducting meetups in some form, either unrelated and parallel, benefiting, or reposts, of the GBG3, or should we simply cease all false maybe meetup illusions and begin to praise the sun and our Tampa Sector meetup overlords? If we choose indecision this November and December, fate will decide for us in 2015. I already have my own predictions on the eventual outcome. Thoughts?
