GAZA EMPIRE 1824-1895 was an African Empire established by the powerful general #Soshangane & was located in Southesten Africa in the area of South #Mozambique & Southern #Zimbabwe as well as parts os #South_Africa (sections of #Mpumalanga & #Limpopo province.the Gaza Empire at its height in the 1860s covered the whole of #Mozambique between the Zambezi & Limpopo rivers. In the 1820s during a period of severe drought,Nguni armies (Southern Africa enthnic groups that speak related Bantu language and inhabit Southern Africa from Cape Province to Southern #Mozambique ,began to invade #Mozambique from what is now called South African. One Nguni chief #NXABA established a short -lived kingdom in land from #SOFALA but in 1837 he was defeated by #SOSHANGANI a powerful Nguni rival. Evantually #SOSHANGANI established his capital in highlands of the middle #SABI river what is present day #ZIMBABWE #SOSHANGANI named the empire #GAZA after his grandfather. The #GAZA kingdom comprised parts of what are now Southeastern #ZIMBABWE ,as well as exending from the #SABI river down to the Southern parts of #Mozambique,covering parts of the current provinces of Sofala,Manica,Inhambane,Gaza & Maputo & neighbouring parst of #South_Africa.
