Setup, craftsmanship judging, and “green rooming” for the stage show to be Saturday 11/16/13, 4pm, Salon A. Fashion and Performance Show It is now time for our cosplayers to strut on stage and show off their lovely costumes and designs! The Fashion and Performance show is centered on the ‘play’ in cosplay, giving talented and enthusiastic costumers the chance to perform themselves up on stage. Before an audience and a small set of judges, cosplayers and costumers are given the time on stage in a Fashion Show set up to visually act out their characters, as well as give an overall look to the costume that they are wearing. This show is unique to other convention masquerades because it does not require skit, music, props, or audio in order to perform. Pre-set music with a stage of light and sound shall be the background to these customers in a mixture of fashion and play. Judges will look over both the design of the cosplay as well as their simple walk-on performance and mark on both attributes. Once our walk-on performance is complete, costumers with a prepared skit or monologue will have the opportunity to take the stage. Rules All fandom types, fashion creations, and original designs are allowed. Multiple awards will be given out for different fandom genres. It is not mandatory for participants to have made their costume. Hand made, store bought, commissioned, closet-cosplay, and modified are all allowed. No props or costumes that require electricity via power outlet or pyrotechnics are allowed on stage. No live steel or real guns are allowed on stage. Participants will be allowed to introduce themselves in character before performance Participant may use MC to announce them. Walk-on costumers will have up to 60 seconds on stage, with lighting and music provided by our team. There are no microphones or costumer-supplied music/audio, but you are encouraged to act, dance, perform - get the audience excited to see you and your costume! Prepared-performance costumers MUST submit any music, prepared audio, or microphone requests in advance at the 11am registration. You’ll have up to 3 minutes on stage. Due to the packed schedule of the event, there will not be a walkthrough on the stage prior to the show itself. Intermezzo - A short break for judges to deliberate will be hosted by our esteemed GCS’13 Grand Marshall and Cosplay Contest host, Uncle Yo.
